PLAY YOUR PART IN BUILDING A NEW FUTURE FOR THE FRUITMARKET

FRUITMARKET // GIFT REGISTRY

OPEN OUT // Support our future

The Fruitmarket Gallery has been home to some of the most important contemporary art and cultural thinking for over 40 years. However, in recent years, our building had started to fall short of our programming ambitions and was in desperate need of some love. Exasperation with outdated or broken facilities and little or no space for our growing engagement and education programme led us to devise OPEN OUT, a transformational redevelopment project seizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand into our neighbouring building and create more space and more programmes for more people.

The new Fruitmarket was originally due to open in summer 2020, but the coronavirus crisis seriously challenged both the timing and finances of the project. We have been heartened and inspired by the generosity of our supporters, but we still need to raise additional funds to ensure that we will be able to bring the Fruitmarket and its programmes back to all our audiences as soon as possible.

Through our unique Fruitmarket Gift Registry anyone who has taken something away from their own experience of the Fruitmarket can donate to our OPEN OUT campaign by selecting a virtual gift they’d like to give back in return – whether a pair of coat hooks for our brand new learning studios; a shelf for displaying hand-picked titles in our ever popular Bookshop; redesigned non-gendered and accessible toilets; or even a newly commissioned public artwork created in and for our revived building.

By buying a 'gift' - or a selection of 'gifts' - from the Fruitmarket Gift Registry you will be making a donation towards our   OPEN OUT campaign and playing your part in helping to build a new future for the Fruitmarket.

THANK YOU

Everyone who buys a gift from the Fruitmarket Gift Registry will be invited to celebrate with us when we re-open the Fruitmarket and all support will be recognised on a dedicated page on our website and in a special Gift Registry leaflet.
